About the park

The park is nestled in the Maikal range of Satpura in Madhya Pradesh, the heart of India that forms the central Indian highlands and is situated at Mandla & Balaghat Districts. The safari has to be booked at least 10 days in advance during the peak season to easily get the availability of seats. There are two timings for safari, morning and evening. How to visit

Kanha has excellent Air, Road & train connections from most parts of India. There are two key locations of Kanha National park, Khatia & Mukki Entrance gate. Khatia entrance gate falls on Mandla district & Mukki on Balaghat district of MP State.

Things to pack

During the peak winter season, from November to February it is necessary to pack warm clothes including jacket, mufflers, gloves because the morning open jeep safari drive can be freezing cold. April-June months are extremely hot therefore it is recommended to carry light colored cotton clothes and caps. Bright colors can disturb the animals therefore clothes should be the in muted jungle shades of beige,brown,green and black.
